AutoCAD Based Launching HydraCAD (Ribbon/Toolbar/Location)

Button: Opening Error Type: Unhandled Exception

Description:

When opening HydraCAD you get the error;

 

Exception in hcadmainbase.arx ARX Command

Unhandled Exception c0000027 (c0000027h) at address aca746e7h

Solutions:

1.
Cause:

Outdated version of HydraKEY 
Solution:

Open HydraKEY, you will likely get a message indicating it's out-of-date

 

Click OK then click the red UPDATE button to download the install file HydraKeyInstall.exe to your computer.  HydraKEY will close.

 

 

Upon completion of the download, using Windows File Explorer, navigate to your Downloads folder (or wherever you saved the file to), then double-click the file  HydraKeyInstall.exe to install the update.  Follow the prompts.

 

Upon completion of the HydraKEY update, you should be able to get back into AutoCAD without the error.
2.
Cause:

Unknown but possibly due to a HydraKEY issue
Solution:

1. Open HydraKEY.  If you get an update notice, make sure to follow through and update the software.

 

2. If you are using a Long Term Authorization, click the RENEW AUTHORIZATION button.  Be patient, you will get a confirmation at its conclusion.  Re-open HydraCAD to test.
3.
Cause:

Unknown but possibly due to a locked file
Solution:

1. Close AutoCAD and re-open, OR

 

2. See if turning the computer off then on again works, OR

 

3. Close AutoCAD then in Windows File Explorer go to this folder on your computer;

 C:\HES\HydraCAD\Ver50\Programs\Version57

 

Look for this file; HCADMainBase.arx

Right-click and select PROPERTIES

 

 

Near the bottom of the GENERAL tab, if you see the option to UNBLOCK the fiie, check the box so it becomes unblocked. 

 

Try to open HydraCAD again.
